How do you get creatures with a star?
If you’re wondering why some of your creatures have a star/cross next to their name, you’ve simply found a “shiny” one and their color is rarer than the other colors available for this species.
- Don’t hesitate to switch to Story difficulty when you start capturing magical creatures: this happens automatically! Otherwise, don’t forget to make yourself invisible by approaching a nest and then use Levioso.
- Note that the Phoenix is the only creature that doesn’t have a shiny version, as you can only get it in one instance during a Cheek mission

The shining Thestral
You will find that most shiny magical creatures are white and this is the case with the Thestral! Be careful, it’s hard to see him in the dark, so look closely for a star next to his name.
