As we said, this Resident Evil 4 remake is far from content with a graphical facelift of the original product. A real reread of a game that will soon blow out its twentieth candle, let’s see how many chapters Leon’s longest adventure is divided into.
How many chapters in RE4 Remake?
In total, there are 16 chapters in Resident Evil 4 Remake, the last of which is much shorter than the others. To get into a little more detail about longevity, it will take you an hour to an hour and a quarter to complete a chapter and they are all built the same way: arena, exploration, puzzle, cutscene. However, and this is the genius of RE4, fatigue never sets in, thanks to the wide variety of situations offered during the adventure. As we hailed in our test of the game, The pacing of Resident Evil 4 is absolutely excellent and it’s also the longest installment, if we discount the canonical sixth installment and its chaotic conclusion to say the least.
A different structure than the original game
If you check the walkthroughs of the original game, you will see that the chapters of the game are conceived differently, with a directory per main part of the game: only 4 chapters, each with several subchapters that actually correspond to the chapters of the remake. There is only a difference in name, but it may be a wish of the developers to unite the 4 main arcs of this epic campaign, undoubtedly the best and most varied offered in a Resident Evil game. It should also be noted that there are differences on the New Game Plus side and the lack of a selection of chapters. Finally, the DLC chapters dedicated to Ada Wong are still missing from the game, but should appear a little later (paid).
