Since Diablo 4 draws a lot of inspiration from MMOs, and multiplayer can be a huge part of that, it makes sense to include a much-requested feature in any game in the genre: clans.
Thankfully, we’re staying pretty far from the horror that is Diablo Immortal, with its ill-conceived factional warfare. Clans usually have a social dimension in Diablo 4, you don’t need them to complete the game, or to take on the toughest challenges like in Lost Ark. However, there’s no denying that it’s nice to have a handful of players with the same interests as you, the same language and a similar rhythm of play. And if nothing else, surrounding yourself with talented players clearly helps you kill the biggest bosses and farm more efficiently.
How do you create a clan?
This feature is unlocked very quickly in Diablo 4. Once the prologue is over (playing for 10 to 30 minutes), open the menu and go to the Clan (N) tab on the PC. A form will appear and all you have to do is fill it out. You will then be asked to fill in some basic information such as the name of the clan, the tag, the description, the language used, as well as some tags that correspond to the general orientation (PvP, PvE, Hardcore, etc.). ). Don’t underestimate the importance of tags, as they play a big part in what type of players will contact you next. Changing the orientation of an already formed clan can lead to member disagreements and departure. Then all you have to do is create the clan.
You can then configure various settings normally found in clans and guilds in online games. Such as the rights of each rank, promotions, demotions, muting a player or even the appearance of the clan in searches.
Benefits offered by clans
Advanced clan features are not known at this time. But don’t expect anything complicated, such as housing. This will mainly be limited to a common discussion channel and possibly to an exchange chest shared between the various members, in which basic resources can be deposited or reclaimed. It should apply the same rules as normal exchanges between players, only with a community aspect to encourage cooperation. This section will be expanded in the future.
There are also no clan-related challenges at the moment, but the list is long and they already contain major boss spoilers. In summary, if you don’t want to be part of a clan, you’re not missing out.
How do you join a clan?
The clan tab provides a clan search function, with various parameters, that allows you to have a list of actively recruiting clans to contact. Request an invitation from a clan leader or one of his officers, or simply receive an invitation. You can accept or decline it in the Social tab of the menu. It’s that simple. As mentioned above, clans can also choose not to appear in the search, in this case it is necessary to interact with a member of the clan directly in the game, or go through one of the alternative recruiting tools , which are the social networks, Reddit and Discord. If it’s something you want to prepare for release, you can visit Discord of Diablo 4’s francophone community at this address: https://discord.gg/diablo4fr
We note that in passing all your characters, in all game modes, are part of the clanot. It’s not managed character by character, it would quickly get hellish considering how much Diablo 4 encourages the creation of new heroes throughout each season.
