It was in 2019 that the mysterious Meltan was added to Pokémon GO. After several teasers from Professor Willow, it was then only possible to obtain it by transferring a sample from the Pokémon Let’s GO Pikachu and Eevee games released on Nintendo Switch in 2018. Fortunately, it is now possible to obtain it more easily. Here’s how.
How do you get Meltan on Pokémon GO?
It is possible to get Meltan through the Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee games or through the Pokémon HOME application (the simplest one):
- Redeem a sample from Pokémon GO to the game on Nintendo Switch or the Pokémon Home application every mysterious box.
- Once the trade is done, you can open the box in your inventory and Meltan will appear on Pokémon GO. You can capture it in a limited time (30 minutes)
- Once the time is up, the box will close and you’ll need to trade another Pokémon on Let’s GO or HOME to open it again.
Meltan glossy: what does it look like?
Meltan is occasionally available in a chromatic version during events. To do this, you need to make the most of the mystery boxes and the time allowed to hope to find a shiny. Note that during the Let’s GO event from March 21 to 29, 2023 you can get shiny Meltan. The time to reopen mystery boxes has also been reduced!
