In this guide, we will see the essential things you need to know about RE4 Remake’s weapons, with some details on the special improvements, but also on the infinite ammo and their unlock conditions that will give a big boost to the longevity.

Knives: Where to find them and special upgrades
- combat knife : The first blade you can repair from the merchant, obtained during progression. Special Improvement – increases attack speed by 1.5.
- Military Knife: Obtained after encountering an old acquaintance 3/4 of the way. Special Improvement – increases his strength by 2.
- Survival Knife: Destroy all mechanical dolls in the game. Special Improvement – makes it indestructible.

Special improvements: how does it work?
As you’ve seen throughout the guide, almost every weapon in the game has a special upgrade to unlock. If you want to get your hands on it, you must first reach the point in the storyline where the merchant will eventually offer it to you. Then the conditions are the same for all the instruments of death in the game: you will have to buy all their improvements. It will cost you a lot every time, but there is a way to “cheat” this step by buying a special 30 spinel upgrade ticket, which raises your weapon to maximum rank in one go.
Infinite Ammo: How Do You Unlock Them?
A difficult question if you want a short answer: it will not be possible for everyone. Unlimited ammunition for common weapons and special weapons requires very high conditions indeed, requiring hundreds of thousands of pesetas, not to mention the conditions to unlock some of the special weapons listed in this guide. Ultimately, the weapon with the easiest unlocking conditions for infinite ammo is the rocket launcher, as it costs “only” 25000000 pesetas, with no need to complete the game in any difficulty or rank.
