Masuyama will work as the series organizer with Yoko Taro, the game’s director and series creator, who will be in charge of the show’s plot and organization.
What is the Nier Automata Anime Story?
The anime follows the same plot as the 2017 video game it is based on. To help the long-abandoned Earth rid itself of the deadly machine lifeforms plaguing the planet, it will follow the androids 2B and 9S on their quest.
The game encouraged players to play it more than once to discover additional plot details and see how events unfold from different angles by combining different gameplay modes in the story. The player is asked to think about his place in the story as it deals with some rather complex philosophical issues.
Will Nier: Automata VER1.1A have a different ending from the game?
There are several similarities between all of Yoko Taro’s games. His tendency to have countless endings is perhaps the most famous. You’re not supposed to experience Yoko Taro’s endings once and then move on, unlike RPGs like The Witcher 3, which have many endings depending on character choice.
NieR: Automata’s ending A tells only part of the game’s plot; to view the whole thing, gamers have to play the game many times until they reach end E. The perspectives and depictions of the stories in each of these claims vary. Taro changing NieR’s conclusion: Automata’s anime adaptation would thus be completely in line with its brand.
Taro hasn’t made any official statements, but he has been teasing fans about possible plot revisions for the anime. He jokes that most of the other crew members’ work focuses on preventing Taro from fundamentally altering the anime’s plot and deviating too much from it in the Aniplex teaser.

However, the name of the anime itself is an indication that significant changes are on the way. Taro has said that the name was NieR: Automata Ver1.1a because “The title ‘NieR: Automata’ was a story we created to be a game, so copying it as is wouldn’t make an interesting story for an anime. So I came up with the idea to change things.”
Due to the advantages and limitations of anime compared to the gaming media, Taro views animation as a separate venture that requires a new approach to tell the story. The question is how far-reaching these changes will be.
Who is Lily in the Kidney: Automata VER1.1A?
Fans have been aware of one of the changes since a trailer was revealed at the NieR: Automata Fan Festival in late November 2022. The teaser, one of the fast-paced character-focused videos, features Lily, a brand new character. She is a warrior of artificial resistance and not a game character. But Lily’s unique quality is that she has a history with the NieR franchise.
Lily makes her theater debut in the YoRHa production. The play was first performed in 2015 and served as a precursor to NieR: Automata was developed during the six-month pre-production phase. Appearing in the game, A2 is shown among a group of android warriors, including Lily.
Her involvement in the anime raises the possibility of depicting the events of the Pearl Harbor Descent play. Additionally, it implies that A2 will continue to develop as a character and perhaps team up with A2 later in the anime. Lily’s involvement could encourage the anime to deviate from the game’s storyline.
