Despite a joint statement between Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Parler in October noting that the two had reached an agreement for the rapper to buy the social network, that won’t happen, Parler owner Parliament Technologies said today.

Parler’s owner and Ye have “mutually” parted without closing the deal, the company said in an emailed statement to businessroundups.org. It sounds like the deal was never really formalized either, a memorandum of understanding at best given the wording of the official statement, which follows:

Parliament Technologies has confirmed that the company has mutually agreed with Ye to terminate Parler’s intent to sell. This decision was taken in mid-November in the interests of both parties. Parler will continue to pursue future growth opportunities and platform evolution for our vibrant community.

It’s also worth noting that Parliament says the deal died in mid-November, so it’s been on this info for at least half a month now. So what has changed?

Well, there’s the fact that earlier today, West praised Adolf Hitler and the Nazis during an interview with none other than Alex Jones — himself an individual who was recently found liable for nearly $1 billion in damages for spreading horrible lies about the incredibly tragic Sandy Hook school shooting.

There is.
