Rabea Massaad is no longer a signature artist for Chapman Guitars. “Rob and Lee and I are still good friends”, he said. After 10 years as the brand’s signature artist, guitarist Rabea Massaad leaves Chapman Guitars.
Massaad announced the news on his social media accounts. He said leaving Rob Chapman and “Captain” Lee Anderton company wasn’t easy and he had “have thought about it for a long, long time.”
“I just feel like I need to do something for myself – just go out only if it makes sense,” the guitarist explained in a YouTube video discussing his departure.
Massaad made it clear that there is no bad blood between him, Rob and Lee. He also said he was grateful to Chapman for giving him opportunities when he was just starting out as an artist.
‘I’ve been there [Chapman] since the beginning of my career, meeting Rob and Lee, and how amazing that relationship grew and what they could do for me as an artist – offering me a signature model guitar when I was literally nobody on the scene or in the industry, “ he said.
“That was such an amazing gift that they chose to do for me – that’s huge, so of course thank you to Rob and Lee for believing in me for so long.”
“They believed in me as an artist before I did anything, which is why this was such a hard decision – I’m a big believer in being loyal to your friends and your family, and it was a hard, very hard decision to make .”
He continued, “I just feel like I want to move on, for myself. I don’t know where the road is going, but I want to see what happens.”
