In an episode of the WHOOP Podcast, Mahomes reveals how his father told him to stop playing football. He mentions:
“I went to the University of Texas on a second day and they sent me to play safety. I knew I wouldn’t be a security or anything like that. On the way back home, my dad said, ‘You just have to focus on baseball and basketball, because that’s the path you’re going to take.’”
