Lauren London’s performance in the new Netflix comedy You People has been well received, but there’s one person whose opinion she’d value more than anyone else’s: her late partner Nipsey Hussle.
In Monday’s episode of the PEOPLE every day podcastLondon, 38, talked about her new role and how she is “still a work in progress” almost four years after the death of her boyfriend Nipsey Hussle.
The famous couple were together until March 31, 2019, when the rapper died in a terrible accident. At the age of 33, Nipsey was shot and killed.

Lauren Nicole London was born in the United States on December 5, 1984. London was born in Los Angeles to a mother who was African American and a father who was an Ashkenazi Jew. London attended Palisades Charter High School for her freshman year, but then she was homeschooled for her sophomore year.
