Wednesday Season 2 Announcement: Renewed by Netflix

Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, has been through a lot. She has been followed by a bloodthirsty monster. Red paint messed up her Rave’N dress. (The standards couldn’t even jump for real blood?) And she had to face the scariest danger of all: other teens.

But things seem to be getting better for Nevermore Academy’s hottest goth. Netflix has confirmed that there will be a second season of Wednesday.

“We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the twisted, creepy world of Nevermore,” That’s what Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, co-showrunners on Wednesday’s Season 1 told us tudum. “We just have to make sure that the pool is not empty on Wednesday.”

The news that the show will be back for a second season comes with a video promising more “torture” on Wednesday. The mystery writer and amateur detective wouldn’t have it any other way, of course.

Have a look at:

“[Wednesday] holds on to her guns, and she’s not out to please anyone,’ said Ortega. “Which, as someone who used to be a huge people pleaser, I really respect.”

It’s clear that Ortega isn’t the only one who loves Wednesday’s teenage version of Wednesday Addams. The show broke the record for the most hours watched in one week on Netflix twice.

In the first week it was watched for 341.23 million hours and in the second week it was watched for 411.29 million hours. Even though Wednesday isn’t into social media or anything social, #WednesdayAddams is a big deal on TikTok, with over 22 billion views and millions of TikTok users trying to copy her “just bitten” makeup look.

Even Lady Gaga couldn’t resist Wednesday, posting her own version of the popular “Blood Mary” dance. But that’s not all the show has done for music: the Wednesday soundtrack is the most popular on iTunes. That’s Wednesday: he always does more than necessary.

“It’s been incredible to create a show that connects with people all over the world,” Millar and Gough add. “We’re excited to continue Wednesday’s torturous journey into Season 2.”

Fans have already seen their favorite new young detective take on a big bad guy, but Season 2 will see her take on a bunch of other bad guys.

As the last few minutes of Season 1 show, the Hyde is still out there whether or not they’re in police custody. Also, there seems to be a stalker going around Nevermore: In the last episode of season 1, Wednesday gets creepy texts and pictures from a number she doesn’t know.

“[The stalker proves] that threats continue… to Wednesday as well as to the school,” says Miller. “Not all loose ends are tied up neatly as she thinks.”

Wednesday may not be one to smile often. But the thought of another scary case to solve might even make her smile a little. More information, such as who will be in Season 2 and what will happen next, is yet to come. So keep checking back to Lee Daily for the latest and greatest news.
