The petition blames the police for how they handled the case. Davidson was found dead on the high school grounds early Monday afternoon after being missing for more than two days.
The Change.org petition, which appears to have been launched by one of Davidson’s classmates, strongly criticizes the Ann Arbor Police Department and Pioneer High School authorities for the way they handled Davidson’s kidnapping.
Right now, the Pioneer students, staff, and Ann Arbor community must all work together to support Addy and her family, and the AAPS community must focus on that.

The mysterious disappearance of a 15-year-old girl
Adriana Davidson, 15, of Scio Township, was reported missing to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office at 12:10 a.m. Saturday by her family. On January 27, they claimed she didn’t come home after school.
According to family members, she was last heard from at 9 a.m. that morning, as she was on her way to Pioneer High School. They searched for her and called the police when she didn’t come home.
Friends last saw Davidson outside the school around 11 a.m. Despite officers searching all weekend, she was nowhere to be found. Police reported that Davidson’s body was discovered by a K-9 unit near Pioneer High School’s athletic fields on Monday, January 30.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement Monday expressing their condolences to Adriana’s friends and family. “We will continue to think of you and pray for you. In addition, we would like to thank everyone for helping spread the word, sharing advice and showing support. The Ann Arbor police took charge of the investigation.

Jeanice Kerr Swift, the superintendent of Ann Arbor Public Schools, said in a statement Tuesday that county officials began working with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office as soon as Davidson disappeared and continued to do so throughout the weekend.

No foul play is suspected
In their latest statement, Washtenaw County officials said they don’t think anything bad happened.
“We know that in the absence of facts, myths can arise, and with such a tragic situation, those myths can do significant damage,” the release read. “Parents are becoming afraid to send their students to a school based on unverified rumors. Family members continue to fall victim to the constant barrage of inaccurate assumptions, and the integrity of an investigation can be compromised.”
When Davidson was found, deputies said there were no obvious signs of foul play and they do not believe there is an active threat to the community.
“We ask for your patience and restraint as we allow Adriana’s family to grieve and the facts of the investigation to emerge,” the release said.
The department does not plan to release any more information until the Ann Arbor Police Department completes its investigation.
“We reiterate our sincere condolences to Adriana’s friends and family,” the press release said. “You remain in our thoughts and prayers.”
