This is the season to be merry: when does it premiere?

None of us single people would mind if Santa brought us a perfectly wrapped present in the form of a life partner this holiday season, but life doesn’t always work out that way.

The penultimate film in the Hallmark Channel’s “Countdown to Christmas” series follows a dating advice columnist who realizes there are occasional exceptions to every rule.

What is ‘Tis the Season To Be Merry about?

Boston-based dating advice blogger Merry (Rachael Leigh Cook) is a recognized authority in her field. However, she has struggled to find love for herself despite the widespread acceptance of her dating advice.

In her attempt to write a book about her own romantic experiences, Merry accidentally inserts a made-up character named Dale as her ideal fiancé, who is taken on at face value by her publisher.

Merry and her best friend go home to figure out how to tell the truth to their publisher before the book is published and she loses all credibility. Merry unexpectedly runs into Adam (Travis Van Winkle), her best friend’s brother.

Despite their obvious differences, they fall in love with each other. They disagree on many things, including what constitutes a healthy relationship between two people.

As Christmas approaches, Merry realizes she can relax some of her standards for romantic relationships, and Adam finds the emotional space he needs to give love another chance. Placing a bet on her affection for Adam leads Merry to the best possible ending for her novel.
