The plot revolves around a team operating on a Scottish oil rig whose return to the mainland is jeopardized by some enigmatic alien forces. The show’s main characters are Iain Glen and Emily Hampshire, with many others playing pivotal supporting roles. David Macpherson is in charge of the Rig.

A brief look at the cast of The Rig

Rose Mason is played by Emily Hampshire in The Rig. Hampshire is pretty good in the clip, effortlessly capturing her character’s anguish and sadness. A strong performance is expected from the actress. Emily Hampshire is known for her roles in movies and television shows such as Schitt’s Creek, 12 Monkeys (series), Boy Meets Girl and many more.

Another notable Scottish actor, Iain Glen, who plays Magnus MacMillan, stars alongside Hampshire in another key role. MacMillan is the captain of the crew stranded on the oil rig. Glen plays MacMillan with furious honesty, taking the performance to a new level. Glen effortlessly conveys his character’s courage and charm. Game of Thrones fans will identify him as Jorah Mormont.
