It’s no surprise that NBC has given the crime thriller The Blacklist another season, as the combination of thrilling scripts, fast-paced direction, and brilliant performances has kept it going since it first aired in 2013. But what should we expect in the next section? Everything you need to know about the tenth season of The Blacklist can be found here.

The Blacklist Season 10 Release Date: When Will Episodes Air?

Recently, Tom Scutro, The Blacklist’s location manager, spoke to Westchester County Tourism & Film and revealed, “To put it simply, it’s been a fantastic run. Incredible to think that this started in 2013. Except for the first episode, I’ve been involved with the show the entire time.

We can’t wait to get back to work on our tenth season, which will begin after Labor Day.” Production on season nine began around the same time as Labor Day last year (the first Monday in September; the fifth in 2022).

The Blacklist has a history of filming and airing episodes simultaneously, so if the show’s usual production schedule holds up, the season 10 premiere could be as early as October. Meanwhile, we cross our fingers.

UPDATE: Crossing our fingers didn’t work, the show airs on NBC on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 8/7c.

Fans will find that very exciting information. In theory, moving the show’s air date from Friday to Sunday will attract a larger audience. Even though it will be up against NCIS: Los Angeles and The Equalizer on CBS, this is a more convenient time slot for a show like this.

Whether the transition is successful or not, we may still see a Blacklist movie. NBC’s CEO, Jeff Shell, believes that “that window construction coupled with the fact that streamers really want movies, movies are floating platforms” has improved the movie industry’s bottom line (via The Express).

We buy all this content and put it in Peacock to launch the streaming service because [NBCU is] produce twice as many films as our closest competitors. The Blacklist airs on both NBC and Peacock, so if the show is canceled as a result of the Sunday night test, a movie could continue the story.

Blacklist season 10 cast: who’s in it?

After the thrilling season nine finale, all viewers will be able to talk about who they hope to see return for season ten. While no cast member has been officially announced as of August 2022, fans can likely count on series star and executive producer James Spader to reprise his role as criminal mastermind and supergrass analyst Raymond “Red” Reddington.

Donald Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff), Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix) and Dembe Zuma (Hisham Tawfiq) are three other main characters who could return. Amir Arison, who played FBI agent Aram Mojtabai in the pilot episode, and Laura Sonwho played FBI agent Alina Park in seasons six and seven won’t be returning for the next episode (via Deadline).

Arison couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make his Broadway debut The kite Runner, so he reportedly leaves to do so. Meanwhile, Sohn has decided to leave to focus on other projects, the nature of which remains unknown.

Arison wrote an emotional tweet about how “the blacklist has changed my life”. He said the show helped him make “friends for life,” among other things. It has not escaped my notice how fortunate I am to have had the opportunity over the past nine years to work and grow in a role with such a remarkable group of talented people.

Since Arison’s character’s exit story is him leaving the FBI and moving to Brooklyn, the door is left open for him to make guest appearances or even a full return in the future; the final episode even made a nod to his next project by suggesting he might see a Broadway show while in New York.

The Blacklist season 10 plot: What’s next?

The season nine finale gave viewers quite a glimpse into the story’s trajectory, even though the season’s premise remains secret for now. By the end of the season, it became clear that Red’s seemingly trusted advisor, Marvin Gerard (Fisher Stevens), had actually been the one who killed his wife, Elizabeth (Megan Boone).

Despite being discovered and killed, he still gave Red something as a parting gift, which backfired in a big way. Marvin told Wujing (Chin Han), one of the first Blacklisters from season one, that he was caught because Red and the FBI were working together, then gave Wujing a list of other Blacklisters that Red helped put away when the two finally crossed paths in jail.

Now on a revenge mission, Wujing has compiled a list of other Blacklisters he wants to convince to help him track down and kill Red. In Season 10, it looks like Red will get the punishment he’s been looking for.
