Sonya Eddy died at the age of 55

Sonya Eddie, a well-known actress, passed away on December 19, 2022 at the age of 55. She received much recognition for her role as Chief Nurse Epiphany Johnson of the iconic ABC serial drama General Hospital. According to the most recent report, Eddy’s friend Tyler Ford told TMZ that the actress underwent surgery on Dec. 9 and was discharged two days later.

However, Sonya started feeling sick again and was sent to hospital four days later when doctors discovered she had an infection. Tyler reported that Eddy was on a ventilator on December 19 due to an incurable illness. The following day, actress Octavia Spencer announced the news on social media. Spencer’s tweet included a picture of Sonya Eddy, and she noted that Eddy would be missed by General Hospital fans.
