Sean Hayes was born on June 26, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. He was brought before Mary and Ronald Hayes. The Northern Illinois Food Bank, a not-for-profit food bank, was run by Hayes’ mother. He lost his mother in 2018. Father Hayes was a lithographer. Mary Hayes has five children, Sean Hayes being the youngest.

Sean Hayes grew up in a godly home and is of Irish descent. He was raised as a Roman Catholic by his mother. When he was only five years old, his parents got divorced. Because of this, Sean Hayes rarely uses his father’s name.

Sean Hayes completed his high school studies at Glen Bard West High School. Sean Hayes enrolled at Illinois State University after graduating from high school to pursue piano studies. According to the attendance record, Hayes was two to three grades away from graduating.
