Police have arrested a mother in connection with the murder of her children at their home in Duxbury, Massachusetts

A lady has been arrested and charged in the death of her two children, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office. Two days ago, all three children in the family were found in their home in Duxbury, Massachusetts; a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy were found dead. The child, who turned 8 months old on Thursday, was rushed to a Boston area hospital with catastrophic injuries.

Lindsay Clancy, 32, was named as the mother by District Attorney Tim Cruz. According to him, the children appeared to be strangled. Cruz declined to specify which room of the house the children were found in.

“As soon as we can, we will indict her on the two counts of murder in the death of her children,” Cruz said.

Cruz stated Wednesday night that an arrest warrant had been obtained for Clancy, charging her with two counts of murder and three counts of strangulation and assault and battery with a deadly weapon for the deaths of Cora Clancy, age 5, and Dawson Clancy, age 3.

The public prosecutor claims that aid workers found the three young people unconscious and covered in blood in the house. Just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday night, Clancy’s husband called 911, prompting emergency services to rush to their home at 47 Duxbury’s Summer Street.

Clancy reportedly attempted suicide by jumping out a window, and the person who saw it called the police, Cruz said. Cruz stated that the baby was currently being cared for at a Boston facility. There was no new information about his health condition.

Cruz stated that the children’s causes of death would be determined by the lead investigator’s office.

“This is an unimaginable, senseless tragedy, and it’s an ongoing investigation.” Cruz said.

Cruz stated that Clancy received medical attention at the scene before being taken to a local hospital, where she was staying on Wednesday. Currently, there is no new information about her health.

The community at large is in shock and praying for the family.

“It’s kind of like, how could this be happening here? But it’s – just – you put yourself in, as you said, the man’s place and you can’t imagine how devastating that is,”

“This is an isolated incident and there is no further threat to the community.”
