Early life and career beginnings
Wendy is of Polish and Italian descent, grew up in Chicago and was raised Roman Catholic by her mother and stepfather. Her stepfather is politician Bud Asher, who is known as the mayor of Daytona Beach, Florida for most of the 1990s and early 2000s. Despite her stepfather’s fame, she grew up mostly out of the limelight, raised primarily by her mother who worked in fashion design. Her stepfather was still active in his career as a coach at the time.
Growing up, she wanted to pursue a modeling career but was discouraged from pursuing her interest, so many tensions arose within their household, leading her to leave home and move to New York to pursue opportunities on her own. During her time there, she established herself online, under the pseudonyms Wendy 4 and Party Girl, and created an account on MySpace.

During his military career, he fought on numerous fronts such as Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Palau, Guam and the Philippines.
After the war ended, he returned home to complete his bachelor’s degree and a law degree from the University of Georgia. He practiced law until the 1950s when he explored a career as an American football coach. He worked at Stetson University, while also running several Florida businesses, including nightclubs, hotels, and motels. During his career, he was known for popularizing Daytona Beach as a prime destination for Spring Breakers, following a sudden surge in spring break visitors in Fort Lauderdale. His campaign to promote Daytona was very successful, earning him the nickname Father of Springbreak.
Coaching and Politics – Bud Asher
While Asher developed a strong career in politics, he also continued to coach American Football for more than six decades. He started as a high school coach and after his stint at Stetson he also worked at Bethune-Cookman University. Eventually, his coaching efforts attracted professional teams and he became the coach of the Jacksonville Sharks during the operation of the now-defunct World Football League.
He was known for scouting various players who would find success in both college football and the National Football League (NFL), a skill that translated into a career as a talent scout in the NFL, working for teams such as the Cincinnati Bengals, San Diego. Chargers and Oakland Raiders.
He also served as a district judge, before becoming city commissioner in 1983, holding that position for over 12 years, until being elected mayor of Daytona Beach for eight years, re-elected three times before retiring. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in early 2010, and he passed away of the illness at his home in 2013. He is survived by his wife, children from a previous marriage, and his stepdaughter Wendy. His funeral was given full military honors.
