Maya Hawke was out in public spotted with the indie pop musician Spencer Barnett on Valentine’s Day in 2022 on the streets of Manhattan, New York City. No doubt the pair were close and engaged in a show of affection which sparked rumors of their dating.

As private individuals, Hawke, 24, and Barnett, 20, have made no statements confirming or denying their relationship. However, they have since attended a few red carpet events together and were present at this year’s Dior Fashion Week.

Barnett entered the music scene in 2015 as a cover artist before releasing his first single “Whatever” in 2017. He then released his debut EP “Reckless” in 2019. He is the son of Roger Barnett, the CEO of Shaklee Corporation, and Sloan Barnett, a former Manhattan district attorney.

Hawke and Barnett are believed to have met through her brother Levon Hawke, as Levon is revealed to be a friend of Barnett’s. Moreover, Maya dabbles in indie music and released her debut album “Blush” in 2020, so it’s not unlikely that two musicians are on each other’s radar.

The couple hasn’t made their relationship “Instagram-official” yet and it’s no surprise since both are relatively offline. Hawke also said in a 2017 interview with The Sydney Morning Herald that she prefers to connect with a potential partner in person rather than through online dating apps.

“I’m not particularly interested in my phone. I am interested in human contact. I think phones have created a certain social incapacity; it has made people socially inadequate. And if spending time alone is fun, then there’s no reason to go out and meet people and make yourself vulnerable,” she said.

Before her romance with Spencer Barnett, Hawke was in a long-term relationship with The Sandman actor Tom Sturridge.

Hawke and Sturridge dated a year and a half from July 2020 to January 2022. The relationship was best known for the couple’s 13-year age difference, which did not go down well with her fans.

At the beginning of the relationship, Hawke was 22 years old, while Sturridge was 35 years old. He also had an eight-year-old child from his previous relationship with fellow actress Sienna Miller.

Hawke’s dating history also includes a short-term relationship with now Rolling Stone president and CEO Gus Wenner, who was the magazine’s Chief Operating Officer at the time. They dated for a few months in early 2019 when she was 21 years old and he was 30 years old.

Unlike her later relationships, she and Wenner were public about their dating lives and had even posted about each other Instagram.

In the PastHawke had alluded to not being able to find anyone to date, saying she “scares men”:
