MOUNT DORA, Fla. – Lake County police are investigating the death of a man and a woman in a senior residence.
according to WFTV officers responded to a report of potentially suspicious activity at Waterman Village in Mount Dora on Dec. 31. When the police arrived, they found a man and a woman dead.
Officials have said nothing which killed the pair, but they said at a press conference on Sunday that their deaths look suspicious and will be considered homicide.
Police inside mountain Dora said that a guard had called 911 to report the strange behavior.WFTV said they asked police several times if they were looking for a suspect and if the community was safe.
Interim Police Chief Mike Gibson said there is no threat to the public, but he hesitated to say anything else.
At the press conference, WFTV spoke to a couple who said the days leading up to this murder were full of strange things. Frank and Pat Blair said a woman tried to enter their house the day before the murders.

“She said, ‘I lost my car key and I need to call my husband, but my phone needs to be charged. Can I come in and charge my phone?’said Frank Blair.
Pat said two police officers wanted them to look at a photo of three people to figure out who she was.
That’s what the Blairs reportedly said WFTV that the police wouldn’t tell them if the people in the photos were suspects in the murders or if the woman who tried to enter their home had something to do with the murder.
the police said Monday they should be able to provide more information. They’ve been in touch with the victim’s son, but they’re not releasing any names until he gets to town.
