Jinni, who was a member of NMIXX, has left the group and its management company, JYP Entertainment. The group will now consist of six members. On Friday (Dec. 9), Soompi reported that Jinni has left rookie girl group JYP “for personal reasons,” citing a statement from JYP.
In addition, it stated that “its exclusive contract has been terminated” and that NMIXX would operate as a six-person unit in the future. Lily, Sullyon, Haewon, Jiwoo, Kyujin and BAE are the surviving NMIXX members. NMIXX considered Jinni their “center” before she left.
In the statement, NMIXX expressed regret for “causing fans undue stress” with “this sudden news,” and urging their followers to support Jinni in her future endeavors, while also expressing their support for the other six members of the group.
JYP debuted in January NMIXX For the first time. Following their announcement in January, the group officially debuted in February with the single album ‘Ad Mare’, which featured the title track ‘OO’ and eventually ranked number 35 on Spotify’s most globally-streamed K-pop songs of 2022.

Within months of their debut, the group was already performing abroad as part of the lineup for KCON 2022’s Premiere In Chicago. In September they returned with the single album Entwurf, which featured the song “Dice”, and recently released the Christmas single “Funky Glitter Christmas”. In addition, they performed the 2022 MAMAs.
When JYP Entertainment presented its investment report in November, it stated that NMIXX would have released two albums by the start of the year 2023. NMIXX had released video teasers for a mysterious project titled “New Frontier” days before that reveal.
