Ismail Jakobs Club Career
FC Cologne
Jakobs started his career at BC Bliesheim. In 2012, he joined FC Köln’s youth program. After playing for all of the club’s youth teams, in 2017 he was placed in the U21 team playing in the fourth-tier Regionalliga West.
Achim Beierlorzer, the club’s manager at the time, moved Jakobs up to the first team for the 2019–20 season. He played in his first game on November 8, 2019 against TSG Hoffenheim. On 18 December 2019, Jakobs scored his first professional goal during Eintracht Frankfurt’s 2–4 loss. The club told Jakobs in March 2020 that his contract had been extended until 2022.
