Is Jessica Alves a transgender woman getting pregnant through IVF after the uterus transplant?

Jessica Alves said she traveled to Brazil in an effort to become the first known transgender woman to receive a uterus transplant.

The 38-year-old Celebrity Big Brother star expressed optimism that she will be able to conceive after getting the £30,000 transplant.

If Jessica wanted to have the transplant, it’s possible she could get pregnant through IVF.

Jessica said that other transsexual women in Brazil have privately undergone successful uterine transplants.

Jessica stated that she had planned the transplant, but had to undergo tests and examinations prior to the procedure.

She stated she will not undergo the procedure if doctors determine it is unsafe.

Jessica told The MailOnline, “There are some skilled doctors around who may be able to perform the procedure.”

The surgery is feasible, in the same way as surgery on a biological female. For a transsexual woman there is no difference.

“I may be the first person in the world to do it, but I believe there are others who have had the procedure but don’t talk about it.

Lili Elbe, a Danish artist, is the only transgender woman reported to have had a uterus transplant; nevertheless, she died of complications just a few months later.

Doctors say that due to developments in uterine transplantation, it is now theoretically possible for a trans woman to give birth after surgery.

However, the pelvis would be too narrow for the baby to pass through, so the mother would have to have a caesarean section.

“I have two or three more surgeries to complete my transition, and then I promise I’m done with plastic surgery for good.
