Inventing Anna is one American drama series on TV created and produced by Shonda Rhimes.
It is inspired by the story of Anna Sorokin and the article “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People” by Jessica Pressler. The series was staged Netflix on February 11, 2022.

Not long ago, the story of a false German heiress became one viral internet meme. The limited Netflix series Inventing Anna tells the story of the woman behind the meme.
The nine episodes The Shondaland series stars Julia Garner (Ozark) as Anna, Anna Chlumsky (Veep) as Vivian, Kate Lowes (Scandal) as Rachel and Laverne Cox (Orange Is the New Black) as Kacy.
Inventing Anna paints a picture of Anna Delvey’s rise and fall, and how she moved in and out from social circles and locations to get the Anna Delvey Foundation off the ground.
She achieves this by leaving her life in Europe behind and starting over in New York City. She weaves into the life of fashion and art figures. She serves the bond between Chase (Saamer Usmani), her futuristic boyfriend, and Nora (Kate Burton), his mentor.
Anna uses Nora’s connections to get her in front of the right lawyers, architects and bankers to make her dreams come true. She lives in hotels and pays win big tips access to New York’s most exclusive locations. Anna even has a brief encounter with Billy McFarland (Ben Rappaport), the infamous creator of the Fyre Festival.

She fools the socialites around her understated yet refined style and dismissive attitude. Her confident demeanor allows her to get away with stealing a plane and stay on a yacht for a week after the owners leave. However, after years of living this way, what goes up must also come crashing down.
The episode summary
So invent Anna concludes are inflated runtime with a finale where Anna is finally imprisoned for her crimes.
Still, the final episode was much more about Anna’s fashion than her crimes, and it’s a shame the show didn’t include the actual line from her lawsuit“She showed more concern for her clothes than for the emotions of those she hurt.”
And that pretty much sums up Anna Sorokin. She the system played, cheated banks and fraudulently clawed his way to the top, leaving many people baffled.

Sure, you could argue that bankers are bad or that Trump is horrible, but that’s like saying The Tinder Swindler isn’t as bad as other scammers. No matter how you look at it, it’s still a scam.
Despite taking much longer than it should have, the show is over entertaining to watch. Some of these episodes didn’t have to be longer than an hour.

Despite this, Inventing Anna ends with a closing chapter that leaves little doubt as to how this story will end.
