As businesses grow, many business owners worry that they’re losing touch with their company’s original purpose – the soul, if you will. Professor of Harvard Business School Ranjay Gulati wanted to better understand the problem, so he interviewed 65 CEOs of high-growth companies.
“I realized very quickly that there’s a tension between wanting to be an adult and wanting to be big, but not wanting to lose that entrepreneurial spirit,” he said. “I saw many of them lamenting ‘the good old days’.”
