Happy Valley is a British crime drama television series filmed and set in the Calder Valley, West Yorkshire, in Northern England.
Sally Wainwright wrote and created the series, starring Sarah Lancashire and Siobhan Finneran, and directed by Wainwright, Euros Lyn and Tim Fywell.
The first series debuted on BBC One on April 29, 2014, the second series debuted on 9 February 2016 and the third series debuts on January 1, 2023.
Happy Valley won the BAFTA Award for Best Drama Series May 2015.

Where was Happy Valley season 3 filmed?
Happy Valley is filmed and set in the Calder Valley in West Yorkshire.
According to Yorkshire Live, the majority of Happy Valley’s first two seasons were shot in Sowerby Bridge, the hometown of Sally Wainwright. Huddersfield, Meltham and Keighley were also used for filming.
Filming for the new series began in Halifax, West Yorkshire, in January 2022.
Cast and crew have been spotted filming at Bath Place, just off Boothtown Road.

What is the plot of Happy Valley season 3?
When Catherine discovers the remains of a gang murder victim in a deflated reservoir, it triggers a chain of events that leads her straight back to Tommy Lee Royce [James Norton].
Ryan [Rhys Connah]her grandson, is now sixteen and has his own ideas about the type of relationship he wants to be in a relationship with the man Catherine refuses to acknowledge as his father and leaves Clare [Siobhan Finneran]Catherine’s sister, in the middle.
When a neighbor is arrested in another part of the valley, a local pharmacist is in over his head.
When did the recordings take place?
Filming started in early 2022 in and around Calderdale and the surrounding West Yorkshire region.
There were film crews seen at various locations in Halifax, also on a residential street in Boothtown.
The previous two series were in the first place across the Calder Valley, with Sowerby Bridge and Hebden Bridge playing an important role.

Scenes were too shot at Harvey’s in Halifax, the former Sowerby Bridge Police Station and Elland Crematorium.
