Reuters said Get Free Report shares fell sharply on Wednesday after the digital search group ran an online ad using their new AI technology that gave misinformation.

Google ran a demo of its new “Bard” technology, an AI-powered chatbot that responds to voice prompts online. This came ahead of a launch event in Paris hosted by Google senior vice president Prabhakar Raghava, who pledged to “bring generative AI technologies into our products”.

The ad asked, “What new things can I tell my 9-year-old about what the James Webb Space Telescope found?” One of the replies said the telescope was used to take the first pictures of plants on “exoplanets,” or planets beyond Earth’s solar system.

Microsoft’s Bing search engine, which came out late Tuesday, gives Google’s dominance of the search market its toughest test in years.

Microsoft said it will add the newer version of ChatGPT, a tool that processes human language instructions, to both the Edge web browser and Bing search engine in the coming months.

ChatGPT was created by OpenAI, which announced a multi-billion dollar investment from Microsoft earlier this year. It is expected to change the group’s share of the search market and add billions to both revenue and revenue.

Google, the industry leader, also made a move to add AI-powered technology to search and ads earlier this week when it launched a trial version of “Bard.” Last quarter, Google’s parent company, Alphabet, made about $43 billion from search, while Microsoft made only $3.2 billion.
