What happens in the final scene of the French-Canadian psychological thriller “Scum”? Let’s start. This film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 24, 2010and was released in theaters in France and Canada on June 23 and September 7, respectively.

Storyline

Carlin, Angel and Davis are three juvenile offenders held in Enola Vale. Davis was one 16 year old drug dealerAngel was one 15 year old car thief, and Butch was a 17-year-old who was transferred from another prison after assaulting a parole officer and gouging his eyes out for his anger issues.

Goodyear, an experienced officer who is stern but sympathetic, is assigned to them. Carlin is said to keep quiet because he is facing the terrifying prospect from adult prison after being transferred from another facility for violence.

He forms a friendship with Archer, a witty, observant free spirit whose behavior is consistent annoys the authorities. Banks, the most despised inmate in Maplewood, soon made Carlin and the defenseless Davis the targets of his vicious attacks.

Dog Pound: Movie Review

Dog Pound by Kim Chapiron is a portrait of three prisoners in one juvenile detention center. The only difference is that the protagonists are teenagers.

This winner of the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival, which was inspired by Alan Clarke’s Film Scum from 1979possesses a visceral intensity without breaking new ground.

In the opening sequence, the three main characters commit crimes that landed them in a juvenile detention center in Montana.

Alex, age 15 (Mateo Morales), steals a car; Davis, age 16 (Shane Kippel), dealing drugs; and Butch, age 17 (Adam Butcher), falls a correctional officer.
