Who is Chelan Simmons?
Born on October 29, 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Chelan Simmons is an actress as well as a former model, best known for her work in several films. Some of her notable projects include “Final Destination 3” and “Good Luck Chuck”. She was also a prominent part of the show “Kyle XY”, playing the character Hilary for three seasons of the show.

Chelan grew up in Vancouver as the middle child of three, with an older sister and a younger brother. She then became part of the movie “Bingo”, which follows the story of a boy who befriends and secretly adopts a dog without knowledge of his family. She took on minor roles as she grew up, but mostly focused on modeling as it was a more lucrative and consistent pursuit at this point in her career.

She returned to acting as a teenager, appearing on the show “MTV’s Now What”, also known as “The Sausage Factory”, a Canadian/American collaboration sitcom that follows the lives of four high school students.
She also appeared as the character Crystal in the Canadian show “Edgemont” which also focuses on the lives of teenagers living in a fictional Vancouver suburb.
In 2002, she had another Stephen King project, appearing in the television movie adaptation of “Carrie”. The novel it is based on tells the story of the titular character who discovers she has telekinetic powers and uses them to get revenge on her abusive household and her bullies. Due to its depiction of violence and revenge, it is banned in many schools in the US, but the book has been adapted numerous times, one of the most recent being the 2013 film starring Chloe Moretz.
Simmons made her way into the horror genre during this time, becoming a scream queen while working on projects like “Chupacabra: the Dark Seas” and “Snakehead Terror”.
Rise to fame
In 2005, after ten years of television work, she returned to feature films and appeared in the comedy “The Long Weekend”, starring Brendan Fehr and Chris Klein. She returned to horror the following year with the third term of the ‘Final Destination’ franchise, which helped her rise to even greater fame, with her role as Ashley Freund. The premise of the film is that a group of people survive a horrific accident meant to kill them, but death pursues them to accomplish the deed.

The film was a box office success despite mixed reviews.
She then worked on the movie “Wind Chill”, before landing a small role in “John Tucker Must Die”, a movie about three women who team up to get revenge on the manipulative titular character who is dating all three of them . the same time. She then gained even more fame when she was cast in the ABC television series “Kyle XY‘, which tells the story of a teenager who has no memory of his past and tries to uncover the mystery of his existence.
The show was canceled after three seasons, leaving the show in an unresolved cliffhanger.
Recent projects
More regular projects marked the later years of Simmons’ career, as she worked on the movie “Good Luck Chuck” with Jessica Alba and Dane Cook. Although the film received some attention for parodying John Lennon’s “Rolling Stone” cover, it received mostly negative reviews. She also had a small role in “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief”, a film adaptation of Rick Riordan’s novel of the same name – the film received many negative reviews from fans of the books, who criticized the film’s departure from the original story of the novel.
Despite this, the film was successful at the theater box officemaking it her most successful release to date.
She was subsequently cast as a regular on the show”The LA complex”, portraying the aspiring dancer Regina. The show aired on The CW and she was later relegated to a recurring role for the final two seasons. She also made guest appearances on “How I Met Your Mother” and “Hannibal”. One of her last projects was the horror movie “See No Evil 2”, which was released straight to video. She also appeared in the series “Mistresses”.
Private life
Chelan married Chris Harrison in 2009, though their marriage only lasted for a short time as they divorced. She then married Greg Street in 2015 and they have a child together. In her spare time she enjoys dancing and cooking. She also enjoys skating in Vancouver. She has a rescue dog. She is close friends with other actresses including Jewel Statite, Cindy Busby and Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe. She is active on social mediamost notably on Twitter, through which she communicates with her fans.
