BTS member Jin revealed his new look before joining the military

Jin, real name Kim Seok-jin, is the first member of the group to complete his compulsory military service. The other six members of the group, RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, are also required to serve in the military. The band’s management company, Big Hit Music, expressed hope for a comeback in 2025.

The last time BTS performed as a group was in mid-October at a show in Busan, South Korea. However, Jin’s last concert was a few weeks later with British band Coldplay in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Jin made his solo debut with the song “Astronaut” during that performance. Coldplay and Jin collaborated on the song’s composition. Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, and Jin hugged each other during the performance as a symbol of their sincere relationship.

Jin has been training for military life since that concert, which begins Tuesday when he reports that he has a training camp for a frontline army division in Yeoncheon, 60 kilometers north of Seoul, according to the Yonhap news agency. After basic training, he is assigned to an undetermined local military unit.

Along with about 200 other brand new recruits, Jin will report to the 5th Infantry Division’s Key Recruit Training Center in Yeoncheon.

The military instruction program teaches students how to march and salute, follow military protocol, handle and shoot firearms, throw grenades, and engage in combat.

There would be no official event on Tuesday, the day of Jin’s entry into service, according to a statement from Big Hit Music. In addition, Jin’s management company urged supporters to send messages of support to the musician while he “finishes his military service and comes back” instead of visiting the military installation.

According to news sources, 270 riot police and 60 government employees have been mobilized by police and municipality to take extra precautions against crowd-related incidents.

It will be challenging for the crowd of admirers and reporters waiting outside to see Jin, as most of the recruits, including him, are expected to approach the military compound through the gate in cars.

According to news reports, there will be a ban on food trucks and street vendors near the entrance to the training center and on emergency responders waiting outside.
