After a devastating loss, Tristan Thompson is grieving. A source close to the 31-year-old NBA player tells ET that his mother, Andrea Thompson, has passed away. ET has requested an interview with Tristan’s rep.
A source close to Tristan adds that Khloe Kardashian, his ex-girlfriend, and he recently visited Tristan’s mother’s grave in Toronto. Admittedly, 4 years old and a son, who was born via surrogate in August, are the children of the now divorced couple. In addition, Tristan is the father of Prince, age 6, and Theo, age 1.
According to the source, the reality star’s mother, Kris Jenner, and sister, Kim Kardashian, will reportedly attend Andrea’s funeral along with Khloe. “A private funeral for his mother is scheduled which Khloe, Kim and Kris are expected to attend.” says the source.
Another source tells ET, “Khloe was very close to Tristan’s mother, and as with any partner, friend, etc., the family will be the first to support them, especially during this challenging time.” According to the website TMZAndrea died unexpectedly after a heart attack.
In 1991, Andrea and Trevor Thompson had a son, Tristan. Deshawn, Daniel and Amari are Tristan’s younger brothers. Tristan told the NBA in a 2016 interview that he calls his mother every day.
“Everyone knows that my mother is very dedicated in taking care of her sons – especially Amari,” Tristan said about his youngest brother, who suffers from epilepsy. “But at the same time, you have to make sure she’s okay. It’s asking a lot from one parent so I always try to make sure she’s okay too. Whether she gets a massage or just gets out of the house and has a babysitter watch over for a few hours, that’s crucial.”
