Residents of Boca Raton have been locked up by activists campaigning for the rights of lesbian, gay and transgender people. Boca’s problems first arose this fall, when Boca was close to closing a deal Palm Beach County. Boca reduced most of the protection by taking itself out of the policy. Boca Raton, Florida, is one of the least progressive communities in the country for LGBT rights. Today, communities are often defiant in their support of LGBT rights. Boca’s battle with domestic partners is not over; the city has talked about extending the benefits. In Boca Raton, the Human Rights Council has threatened legal action against the city after it failed to respond to a request for public records. A group of researchers examined the Boca memo for outdated information. “We’re not asking for radical changes, just standard things that have been around for a long time.”

Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach feels more like a laid-back neighborhood beach community. ER Bradley’s has live music on Saturday nights from 7-11pm for happy hour or a concert. Respectable Street is the Southeast’s oldest nightclub, opening in 1927. Sassafras’ upscale menu combines Southern charm with a touch of class. Buttermilk biscuits, baby back ribs, and collard greens are all popular side dishes at this restaurant. A Delray Beach institution, Dada has been around since 2000. The best sandwich combinations are a great mix of fine cheeses and New York Grilled Cheese bread.
