The Witcher: Blood Origin was intended to be an epic tale of the Conjunction of the Spheres and the birth of the first witcher, two of the most pivotal events in the history of the universe. So because we had complete creative freedom, we filmed whatever we wanted. Then we wondered in the cutting room: “OK, what’s the best version of this sandwich we can make?” The best possible sandwich makes you think, “That was not too much and not too little.” The spices on the sauce were perfect. So that’s what we wanted to do.
Despite the fact that the producers wanted to make the program “the most delicious sandwich,” they usually avoided discussing the most intriguing aspects of the story element or the roots of the world the show was based on. Given how much material has been left unexplored, it’s possible the Witcher world will revisit this era and dedicate more than four episodes to it next time around.
