That’s what the New York City coroner said Fox News digital that Charlbi Dean died of bacterial sepsis in August. She turned 32. It was decided that Dean’s death was a mistake.

The coroner wrote that she died of “bacterial (Capnocytophaga) sepsis complicating asplenia due to blunt trauma distant to the trunk.”

Dean is said to have been in a car accident in 2009. She had to have her spleen removed and also broke her ribs and her back. Alex Jacobs, Dean’s brother, spoke to “Rolling stonea few days after Charlbi’s death and said she had had “mild” symptoms.

Take a look at:

She asked Luke Volker, the man she would marry, to take her to the emergency room. She died a few hours later. At the time, she was said to have died of a “unexpected illness.”

“We are not quite sure yet [what happened]” Jacobs told the outlet. “An autopsy is underway, which we know may take some time. But what we heard [that] there was a viral infection in her lungs.”

He also said that Dean in a “Very bad” car accident in 2009, which resulted in the removal of her spleen.

“[The spleen is] involved in fighting infection, and that could have something to do with what happened,” Jacobs said. “Her spleen not being there only added to why she might not be able to fight it off.”

“Capnocytophaga bacteria are normal bacteria commonly found in the mouths of humans, dogs and cats,” says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Caitlin Cossaboom, a trained veterinarian who works for the CDC as an epidemic intelligence officer, told Fox News Digital that “serious infections caused by Capnocytophaga are very rare.”

However, people with weak immune systems who have trouble fighting off infections are more likely to get sick. It’s not clear whether Dean’s infection came from an animal or not.

Dean’s last film was ‘Triangle of Sadness’, which won the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. In the comedy she starred with Woody Harrelson, Harris Dickinson, Carolina Gynning and Dolly De Leon.

Dean played Syonide on the CW show”Black Lightningbefore she got her big break. She was seen in ‘Blood in the Water’, ‘Don’t Sleep’, ‘An Interview with God’ and ‘Porthole’.
