Katie Osborne is an American sportscaster and reporter, who became known to the viewing public, especially the motorsports and car enthusiasts, when she hosted ‘PowerNation TV’.

Early life and family
Katie Osborne was born on July 31, 1987 in Indianapolis, Indiana USA, to Catholic parents, Brad and Meg, who were celebrating their 36th birthday.e wedding anniversary in March 2020. She grew up with her siblings, Rob and Scott, in Carmel, north of Indianapolis. A cancer survivor, Meg was a high school teacher and swim coach for more than three decades. Brad was a real estate agent for 42 years and in 2015 he became a school bus driver, which he considers a bucket list job.
In 2008, Meg became the founder and president of Meg and Associates, an event planning and marketing company that primarily hosts fundraising events for charitable causes in the Indianapolis area. Brad is one of the company’s vice presidents.
Her older brother, Rob, is married and has a son named Aiden James, whom she takes a liking to. Her younger brother, nicknamed Scottie, enjoys sculpture, illustration and design. You only have to look at her social media posts to know that they are close as a family. Despite their busy schedules, they always make time to be together, and not just on special occasions or celebrating milestones. Her parents express how proud they are of Katie’s achievements.
Her maternal grandfather was Ralph F. Gates, the 37e governor of Indiana from 1945 to 1949.
Education background
Katie graduated from Heritage Christian School in Indianapolis in 2006. She attended the University of Iowa for Sports and Health Studies for one year (2006-2007), where she joined the swimming and diving team. Than she transferred and eventually graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sports communications broadcasting from Indiana University, Bloomington in 2010, where she served on the Student Foundation steering committee. During her college years, she became involved in the dance marathon student organization, which supports young cancer patients and their families, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
Career
First steps
While in college, she spent a year (2007-2008) as an administrative assistant at St. Vincent’s Sports Performance Center, followed by a seven-month customer service internship at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the Brickyard 400 and Indianapolis 500. Her her first experience in sports reporting came in January 2008, when she joined the NIKE field reporter program that lasted almost two years.
In 2009, she worked briefly as unit marketing director for American fast food restaurant Chick-fil-a, and then from 2010 to 2011 as a sports intern at Sports-TV Channel 8, as an in-game TV presenter. for Pacers Sports and Entertainment, and the host and content producer of “In the Passenger Seat” for IndyCar, an open-wheel racing series.
Katie continued to hone her sports reporting skills, working from 2011 to 2013 as a sideline reporter and host for several sporting events and shows, including the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, USA Swimming Indianapolis Grand Prix, Speed’s AMA Supercross and Indianapolis Colts (American Football) pre game shows.
Further success
Katie had a busy schedule as a TV reporter and host for ESPN, NBS Sports, Fox Sports and other sports networks, gaining not only experience but also a wider audience. She was the executive producer and host of X Games/Global Rallycross web content and produced a radio program associated with it. In 2014, she became the host of Fox Sports baseball San Diego “PadresPOV” weekly, and occasionally served as a sideline reporter for Padres broadcasts.
In 2015, she covered the series “TORC: The Off-Road Championship” as a track reporter for Fox Sports.
“PowerNation TV”
One of the biggest breakthroughs that came her way was hosting ‘PowerNation TV’ which is mainly aimed at car enthusiasts as it contains programs with how-to formats such as ‘XOR’, ‘Detroit Muscle’, ‘Truck Tech ‘ and ‘Engine Power.” Her first episode as host of “Power Nation” which aired on Spike was on January 4, 2016, also airing on History Channel, CBS Sports and NBCSN. She also hosted “Power Nation on the Road from June 2016 to January 2020, and the shows are available on Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV digital media players.
She said that if you live in the racing capital of the world, Indianapolis, you can’t help but get interested in what’s happening in the automotive world, although in her case it’s much more personal than that since her parents were a part of Indianapolis 500 ; they were directors of the 1993 500Festival, a non-profit community organization that organizes events and programs in honor of the Indy500. Her father loves cars and has talked to her about them a lot, and she has grown to love them too. She has worked on shows from both two-wheel and four-wheel racing programs.
Some of the programs she currently participates in include Mecum Auctions since August 2016, Red Bull Signature Series on FS1 since October 2018, and NASCAR since January 2020.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she covered sports and conducted online interviews for shows like ‘Redbull Homestretch’.
Private life
Katie is 32 years old, and is to date Tanner Foust, who is a television host and professional racing driver. It’s not revealed when they started dating, but her first Instagram posts with him were in August 2013 when they visited Children’s Healthcare in Atlanta, and then in February 2014 for the “Make A Wish” event. Between 2014 and 2019, they were able to spend time together, and Tanner even spent vacations with her family. No recent photos have been posted with him; the latest was in April 2019, when she shared that they were both busy and couldn’t meet often.
Best known for Rallycross and drift racing, Tanner Foust has won numerous medals in racing events. He made “Formula Drift” history as he won back-to-back series championships (2017-2018), and had won the most games in Fox Sports’ “X Games” with nine medals. Foust was the host of the car TV series “Top Gear” and Speed Channel’s weekly show “SuperCars Exposed”. He also worked as a stunt driver for movies like ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ and ‘The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift’.

She has created and organized “Make-A-Wish” events and worked with other foundations to help enrich the community, including Homes of Hope, as she was part of the group that built a house in Mexico for a family in emergency.
